Age: 9
Age at T1D diagnosis: 7

David is in good company managing his T1D—his older brother was diagnosed with the disease nearly 12 years before David learned he had T1D. “I was taught a lot from my brother, and he has really helped me out. I can’t believe all the things I have to do!” he says. At first, David had three or more shots each day. “Now I have a pump!” he says. “I love having my pump.” Beyond technological innovations, though, he remains hopeful for a cure. David enjoys break dancing, playing football and spending time with his friends. David is attending JDRF Children’s Congress to “tell my story about living with diabetes” and to advocate for kids like his older brother. “I want to fight for both of us!”
