"In the future, I aspire to do something meaningful," says Darby. She has thought about opening her own dance studio (since she loves to dance), or becoming an endocrinologist to help in the fight against diabetes, which she was diagnosed with at age three.

"In the future, I aspire to do something meaningful," says Darby. She has thought about opening her own dance studio (since she loves to dance), or becoming an endocrinologist to help in the fight against diabetes, which she was diagnosed with at age three. Currently, Darby is making a meaningful effort in raising awareness and funding for type 1 diabetes research. She has given speeches about diabetes, and she helps raise thousands of dollars every year during the JDRF Walk season. As a delegate, Darby wants to persuade more people to support diabetes research. A straight-A student, Darby enjoys taking dance lessons, and is very interested in psychology. She takes special pleasure in learning new things.
