Age: 17
Age at T1D diagnosis: 10

Part of what makes Craig and his T1D advocacy unique is his personal philosophy. “I try to be a good person to others, and treat people the way I would like to be treated.” Craig’s positivity has helped him contribute time, raise money, and spread awareness in his community about the disease. Craig’s volunteer work includes delivering speeches in school, serving as the Youth Logistics Chair for the JDRF Walk, and writing an article about daily life with T1D for Living Well magazine. For these outreach efforts and others, Craig won his school’s Jefferson Award for public service last year.

Craig loves traveling to different cities to watch the Philadelphia Phillies play—so far, he’s been to games in San Francisco, St. Louis, Chicago, Seattle, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and New York.
