Cooper's positive outlook has helped him to turn the diagnosis he received at age 10 into a way to make a difference. Cooper enjoys playing on his school's golf and basketball teams, and while he may have challenges that his other teammates don't, he says he chooses to make the best of every situation.

Cooper's positive outlook has helped him to turn the diagnosis he received at age 10 into a way to make a difference. Cooper enjoys playing on his school's golf and basketball teams, and while he may have challenges that his other teammates don't, he says he chooses to make the best of every situation. Cooper is taking active steps to fight diabetes. He won first place at the State Fair of Oklahoma for his science project about the effects of exercise on blood sugar; his Walk team, "COOPER'S CREW," has raised over $25,000 for JDRF; and he has met with government leaders through the Promise to Remember Me Campaign. "These meetings allowed me to see…how I can accomplish small tasks that make a difference," he says. Cooper wants to become an endocrinologist, dermatologist, or forensic scientist.
