Chloe's spirit is a force to be reckoned with. Diagnosed at age seven, Chloe was recently adopted by her grandparents, who have been working to raise awareness about the disease. "I am trying to be as strong and supportive as she is, but she is a tough act to follow," says Chloe's grandfather, who describes her as bright, loving, and empathetic beyond her years. Chloe enjoys her jazz dance class and being a Brownie, and one day wants to become a police officer or a nurse. As a delegate, she wants to meet more children like her and encourage Congress to support diabetes research.
