Age: 14
Age at T1D diagnosis: 8

Charley claims she is an ordinary teenage girl, but her attitude toward living with T1D makes her quite extraordinary. Since she was diagnosed with T1D in 2014 at the age of eight, she has known that living with T1D does not define her, and that if she controls her T1D well, she can do anything she wants in life. In addition to playing trombone and tennis, and spending time with her family and pets, Charley is proud to serve as a JDRF Youth Ambassador, because, as Charley says, “I have an obligation to share my experience and to help newly diagnosed families to know that while life won’t be the same, it can still be amazing!”
