The Executive Director of the JDRF New England Chapter refers to Ceci as one of her “go-to” volunteers. Ceci has participated in the chapter’s JDRF One Walk and Gala events, serves as a Youth Ambassador and mentor, and contributes to the chapter’s outreach and advocacy efforts. When she was just 14, she and her father were speakers at the chapter’s Gala, and last year she spoke at its Spring Research Briefing. In 2015, she participated in a study on Texting and Monitoring Blood Glucose for Adolescents. Ceci isn’t sure what she wants to do professionally, but she enjoys science and psychology. In her spare time she volunteers with the Special Olympics and plays volleyball.
