Age: 15
Age at T1D diagnosis: 13

Casey is a self-starter. She lives more than 300 miles from the nearest JDRF chapter, but that hasn’t stopped her from doing her best to organize Wyoming’s T1D community. She organized a support group called ‘Together We Are One’ for people with T1D, organized a fundraising hoop shoot contest, and held a fundraiser that allowed her support group to sponsor a participant at a local diabetes camp. In her spare time, Casey participates in horse jumping competitions and the rodeo, and plays the flute in her high school band. She would like to compete in the Olympics, and hopes to have a career as an equine veterinarian.
