Every year, Carr and his family do everything they can to support T1D research by forming JDRF Walk teams, attending Galas, and advocating in Washington, D.C. Carr is interested in politics and has spoken with members of his state’s legislature about funding for T1D. “All of these devices and a cure can become a reality, but it takes research, which takes money,” Carr says. “I like going to Washington with my dad and talking to our congressman about type 1 diabetes.”

Carr loves to travel near and far. He has visited more than 20 states across the country and has been to seven countries around the world. But the accomplishments that make him most proud? “My activities supporting JDRF,” he says.
