Caroline's goal is to make a difference in the world. One way she's already doing that is through her work to educate others and raise money for diabetes research. Diagnosed at age 10, Caroline has raised over $12,000 for JDRF in the Walk to Cure Diabetes with her Golden Sneaker Award-winning team, "Cure for Caroline." She started a school fundraising walk for diabetes, sewed bags and wove bracelets to benefit diabetes research, helped with a JDRF strawberry shortcake benefit, and participated in the Promise to Remember Me campaign. Caroline, who also has Graves' disease and vitiligo, wants Congress to know that "funding can help make life easier – even while waiting for a cure – with new technologies like the artificial pancreas." Caroline's hobbies include art, archery, and soccer. Interested in world cultures and nature, she is "concerned for the wellbeing of the earth and those who live on it."
