Although Caitlin sometimes makes sacrifices or adjusts her routine because of diabetes, she says, "There is nothing I can't do because I have diabetes." She has danced in the Nutcracker for three years, is a talented swimmer, and enjoys biking, soccer, piano, and reading.

Although Caitlin sometimes makes sacrifices or adjusts her routine because of diabetes, she says, "There is nothing I can't do because I have diabetes." She has danced in the Nutcracker for three years, is a talented swimmer, and enjoys biking, soccer, piano, and reading. Caitlin has promoted diabetes awareness by participating in the Walk to Cure Diabetes, and supported her dad in the Ride to Cure Diabetes. The Ryan family has also been interviewed about their type 1 story for television. One day, Caitlin would like to become a veterinarian because she loves animals, or a nurse because she likes to help people. As a delegate, Caitlin says, "I would like to meet other children from across our country who have diabetes, and work with them to tell our Congress…what it is like to have diabetes."
