Age: 7
Age at Diagnosis: 6

Brock has handled his T1D diagnosis really well. “I don’t cry with injections, finger sticks, CGM or pump site changes, and I tell people I have T1D like it’s my super power.” He comes from a long line of T1D advocates—his dad and uncle were both diagnosed with T1D at age 2 and his grandmother was very involved in their local JDRF chapter.

Brock loves sports and was on the all-star baseball team last summer. He had to explain the devices he wore to his teammates, and that inspired him to become a JDRF Advocate. Brock’s family raises funds for JDRF through One Walk and he and his dad spread awareness around T1D by educating his class at school. “I will use my voice as loud and as much as I can to advocate for more research, for less cost for supplies, and for better education in schools around the diagnosis.”
