Age: 11
Age at T1D diagnosis: 9 months

T1D is one of many health obstacles Bobby lives with every day. Diagnosed with autism and dyspraxia in addition to his T1D, Bobby faces his hurdles with a bright smile that everyone notices. Bobby’s mom, Marilyn, says, “Everyone who meets him, teaches him, cares for him, agrees that he has a very special spirit. He’s compassionate beyond his years, and he loves people and always puts others first.”

Today, Bobby is very active. He likes to swim, read, and watch the news—the Today show is an especial favorite. He also loves everything to do with school, and aspires to be a teacher someday. Some of his many proud accomplishments include running his first mile and learning how to ride his scooter.
