Age: 14
Age at T1D diagnosis: 8

Between baseball, football and basketball, Blake always stays active. On top of his many sports, he stays active with JDRF advocating for the T1D community. After being diagnosed with T1D in 2012, Blake started a JDRF One Walk team, Team Blake, with his friends and family, in the hopes that he could help make life easier for people with T1D—an attitude Blake is taking with him to Washington. Blake says going to Children’s Congress is important because he wants his Members of Congress to know that “you have to worry about T1D 24 hours a day. You never get a break.” When he grows up, Blake wants to be a professional baseball player who inspires kids with T1D to follow their dreams and not let T1D hold them back.
