Age: 7
Age at T1D diagnosis: 1

When Andrew’s mom asked him if he would like to come to Children’s Congress to speak with legislators about the need for a cure for T1D, he first asked, “Would they end it for everybody?” His mom nodded. “Then yes!” Andrew is already active in promoting awareness. He and his twin brother, who doesn’t have T1D, are busy working on a children’s book about questions kids have about the disease. They plan to donate their profits from the book to T1D research.

Andrew likes to mentor kids who are newly diagnosed with T1D, and he teaches his friends and teachers about daily life with it. He loves to fish, play board games, and build with his Legos. Andrew wants to become a sea turtle rescuer when he grows up.
