Age: 11
Age at T1D diagnosis: 4

Amber just can’t hide her enthusiasm for T1D researchers and their progress toward a cure. “If they’re close to a cure, they should have me on speed dial! I cannot even imagine how life would be for me if I did not have to deal with type 1 diabetes every day.” Yet Amber does more than manage her T1D; she also finds time to spread awareness by giving speeches at schools and for Girl Scout troops and raising money through her JDRF Walk team, Amber’s Allstars.

In the future, Amber hopes to become a singer. She already has a jump start—Amber is a talented member of her school chorus. She also loves acting and taking lyrical-dance classes in addition to reading, bike riding, crocheting, and playing chess.
