Ewan knows firsthand just how much technology can help a kid with T1D. He has an insulin pump, and recently started using a continuous glucose monitor. “I don’t have to get poked as much anymore,” he says. “I’m really happy that there is a device like that to make having diabetes less painful.” When Ewan isn’t occupied raising funds for JDRF with his family or participating in events like the JDRF Promise to Remember Me campaign, he enjoys acting in his drama class, doing science experiments with his dad, reading chapter books, and spending time with his 1–year–old puppy. When he grows up, Ewan plans to become a veterinarian and to run a farm with his sisters, including Annika, who is also attending this year’s JDRF Children’s Congress.
