Age: 10
Age at T1D diagnosis: 2

Adalyne, who manages both T1D and celiac disease, has a lot on her mind. “A cure would mean my brain could think about other things instead.” Adalyne and her family are helping in the effort toward a cure, having founded the largest support group in Phoenix, AZ, discussing T1D with their state lawmakers, and helping other families coping with T1D.

An honor-roll student who loves to read, ride her bike, and play with her sisters, Adalyne considers her independent management of T1D at birthday parties and sleepovers as one of her great accomplishments. She is considering working with animals one day. Her ultimate goal is “to be a nice person who makes good choices, and I want to be a good friend to others.”
