Robinson knows how special a supportive group of friends can be when you have T1D. At a young age, she and her friends started a nonprofit called Make a Real Change for Juvenile Diabetes (MARC). As part of MARC, Robinson and her friends make pins, then place them in recycled empty test strip containers. To date, they have made 2,500 pins, and in addition to selling them to raise money for JDRF, they also give them free of charge to kids newly diagnosed with T1D. Aside from her immense service background, Robinson is a very accomplished athlete. She is a 6’1” middle on her volleyball team, and travels for tournaments. Robinson is also very creative, and especially loves to play piano and paint. Robinson says, “I have learned that I cannot let T1D stop me from doing anything I put my mind to!”
