Age: 11
Age at T1D diagnosis: 13 months

C.C. maintains a busy schedule full of basketball, softball, Girl Scouts, swimming, traveling and acting, but none of those things stop her from making time to advocate for her fellow members of the T1D community. Over the years, C.C. and her family have been incredibly involved with JDRF, raising $12,000 just this past year through their JDRF One Walk team, and a total of $50,000 over the last eight years. Her family is also very involved with their Chapter’s Gala, in addition to assisting with local outreach by volunteering to meet with newly diagnosed families. C.C. is excited to head to Washington to continue her advocacy efforts, because she is “hopeful that one day everyone with T1D will be able to live a life free of this disease.”
