Age: 14
Age at T1D diagnosis: 3

Aiden loves sports, playing with his brother and sister and reading. Three years ago, he developed celiac disease and the added burden has been difficult. He says, “I learned that once you have one autoimmune disease, like type 1 diabetes, you are now more susceptible to developing another.” Aiden enjoys public speaking and wants to be a motivational speaker. He has raised awareness about T1D at school assemblies, Sonora Quest Laboratories and his JDRF Gala and JDRF One Walk. His Walk team, ‘Aiden’s Entourage,’ has been the top local fundraising family team for several years. He says, “It is vital for the U.S. Congress to continue to support diabetes related issues so that the research can hopefully one day soon find a cure for this horrible disease.”
