Age: 17
Age at T1D diagnosis: 1

Bridget loves reading and studying, especially about subjects that overlap with T1D. She explains, “We have been learning about cell membranes, transport and protein hormones. Every time the book or lesson mentions insulin or the endocrine system, I get excited because I love learning about why my body works the way it does.” Each summer, Bridget attends Camp Leo, which is a camp for kids and teens with T1D. She’s looking forward to making the transition from camper to counselor-in-training this summer. Bridget would love to see a cure for T1D so she can realize her dream: to work for the FBI. “With a cure, I could be an agent and could do some good for my country.”
