Age: 9
Age at T1D diagnosis: 11 months

William would love a cure for his T1D, but his hopes for this year’s Children’s Congress are for others who suffer. “I hope to tell the people that I really want to find a cure for type 1 diabetes, so other kids don’t have to prick their fingers or do shots anymore if they get type 1 diabetes. I think people in our government can help lots of kids like me.”

Every year, William and his family visit Missoula, MT, to participate in the JDRF Walk there. A dedicated student and athlete, William is in his school’s talented and gifted program, and he loves to read. He also enjoys playing Nintendo DS and Wii. William is considering becoming a policeman when he grows up so that he can help protect people.
