Will loves to try new things—he enjoys bowling, golf, ice skating, fishing, coin collecting, and video games, to name a few. But if he had to pick favorites, he might say baseball and volunteering. When he’s not cheering on his home team—the Yankees—Will can often be found helping out with programs for military families, food banks, and other worthy causes in his community.

“As a delegate, I hope to encourage Congress to continue to fund research for an artificial pancreas. We need advances in sensors so they are smaller and more comfortable, and we need a closed-loop system,” he says. “Most importantly, we need a cure for type 1 diabetes.” When he grows up, Will hopes to increase his influence to continue T1D research. He plans to become a lawyer like his father—U.S. Congressman Tom Reed.
