Age: 16
Age at T1D diagnosis: 12

Will enjoys playing varsity soccer, swimming and tennis. He also loves long-distance running, reading, and surfing. In the future, Will wants to study medicine. Although managing T1D can be a challenge, Will says, “Because of T1D I am ready for anything life has to throw at me, and I know that I can do anything.” Last year Will and his father rode more than 100 miles for the JDRF Ride—and raised over $30,000. To raise awareness and funds at his high school, Will and five other students with T1D created a JDRF One Walk team and encouraged fellow students to join. Will and his family also take part in their local JDRF Gala every year. “I am dedicated to doing all that I can to make it easier to live with or find a cure for T1D.”
