Age at T1D diagnosis: 6

Ty and his family have learned to adjust to life with not only him having T1D, but his older brother and younger sister as well. Ty is thankful for the research advancements that have helped make life a little easier, which is why he and his family work hard to fundraise and spread awareness about T1D. When not immersed in JDRF activities, Ty loves to play basketball, baseball and flag football, and can be found jumping on the trampoline after school. Ty heads to D.C. with hopes that because of efforts from people like his family and the federal lawmakers that “one day I won’t have to carry around medical supplies and devices everywhere I go.”
