Thomas is in jazz band at school and his favorite hobby is drumming. He also enjoys ultimate frisbee, history, and politics. Thomas tries to stay as up-to-date as possible on the latest in diabetes research and treatments. He is a JDRF Youth Ambassador—and has volunteered at his local JDRF Gala. Thomas has also taken part in JDRF One Walk–and he managed the Youth Ambassador Q&A booth at last year’s event. Thomas and his mother have also met with Members of Congress during JDRF Government Day to garner support for a bill that would require Medicare coverage for CGMs. He says, “My dream for the future is a world without diabetes. I know the realization of this dream largely will be made possible through government funding of T1D research.”
