Sofia loves speaking different languages, such as Yiddish and Chinese, and taking pictures on the streets of her native New York City. She is very interested in activism and potentially becoming a journalist someday. Soon, she will be a participant in an upcoming closed-loop artificial pancreas trial at Mount Sinai. Sofia frequently shares her T1D story with others, including recently for a television news story and at her Bat Mitzvah. “I really want to make a difference and help make managing this disease more affordable so we can have the necessities we need to survive our day-to-day lives.”
