Age: 15
Age at T1D diagnosis: 13

When Shervin received his T1D diagnosis, he joined his dad and brother in their fight against the disease. “Right now, ‘normal’ for my family is a life where three out of the four in my house live with type 1 diabetes. We hope and pray for the day that ‘normal’ means type 1 diabetes no longer has a hold on our family—the day that we can say that we used to have type 1 diabetes.”

Shervin and his family help raise funds for research through JDRF events, including Galas and the Ride to Cure Diabetes. Shervin enjoys playing sports like basketball, soccer, and football, and he is an accomplished student who is interested in studying medicine and engineering. He hopes to become a biomedical engineer someday.
