Age: 16
Age at T1D diagnosis: 13

Sam is an active student, lettering in both track and football, all while maintaining his spot on his school’s honor roll. In addition to school and athletics, Sam also runs his own lawn care business, and is incredibly active with JDRF. He has participated in TypeOneNation Summits, JDRF One Walk events, JDRF Ride and has also served as a mentor. Sam looks forward to bringing his voice to Children’s Congress this July to speak about the realities of living with T1D every single day. “The stress of maintaining your blood sugar is a constant burden, this disease is on my mind twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and will be until we find a cure.”
