Age: 12
Age at T1D diagnosis: 6

Quaid is a natural communicator. He is an informal community ambassador and spokesperson for JDRF’s Montana Council, as well as a mentor to other kids who are newly diagnosed with T1D. He recently led a school assembly and JDRF Kids Walk to raise awareness of T1D. Every year, he shows his class a JDRF video and speaks to them about living with T1D. He and his family recently held a fundraiser in his community and donated all the money raised to the JDRF One Walk event in Missoula. In his spare time, Quaid plays competitive soccer. In the winter, he downhill skis, and spends his summer boating and fishing on Flathead Lake. When he grows up, Quaid hopes to work in the tech field, perhaps developing phone apps.
