Mia Grace is a competitive year-round swimmer, participating with both her local swim club and her school’s varsity swim team. When she’s not in the water, Mia Grace spends her time making sandwiches for the homeless, writing thank you cards to military service members and working at a summer camp for children with T1D. She was awarded The President’s Volunteer Silver Award last year for volunteering more than 250 hours. Mia Grace knows that she wants to continue her service when she grows up with a career that involves helping others. She is determined to do all she puts her mind to in life because, as she puts it, “I have not let diabetes stand in my way of living life!”
