Age at T1D diagnosis: 7

Madeline is singing her heart out on behalf of T1D awareness. The talented crooner has performed the national anthem each year for the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure event. She has performed—and even starred—in an awesome array of musicals and shows, with Little Shop of Horrors, Les Misérables and Wicked among them. She has also investigated T1D as part of one of her school science projects. “To help educate others at my school, I participated in the science fair with a project that tested different ways of cleaning fingers prior to checking blood sugars,” she says. “I won first place for my efforts.” Madeline also enjoys horseback riding, pheasant hunting, sewing and crafting. When she grows up, she wants to become a Broadway star.
