A gifted equestrian who is currently working on a novel, Lyndsey harbors dreams of becoming a veterinarian and a writer someday—so that she can write about her adventures with animals. In the meantime, she advocates for T1D research by participating in JDRF Walks, expresses her frustrations with her disease through lyrical dance, and shares her story with her class and with local media. “I like telling my story, because it helps others to know how tough it is.”

Lyndsey helped design “Lyndsey Lion-Heart” shirts for her 98-person Walk team and also assisted in organizing a breakfast JDRF fundraiser. Living in New Jersey, Lyndsey and her mom collected supplies for kids with T1D who lost their homes in the destruction of Hurricane Sandy.
