"I am so proud to be a part of JDRF," says Kaitlyn, who wants to be a chapter Executive Director one day. Diagnosed at age two, she is a Youth Ambassador for the Inland Empire Chapter and is enthusiastic about raising money for JDRF and spreading awareness about type 1.

"I am so proud to be a part of JDRF," says Kaitlyn, who wants to be a chapter Executive Director one day. Diagnosed at age two, she is a Youth Ambassador for the Inland Empire Chapter and is enthusiastic about raising money for JDRF and spreading awareness about type 1. Kaitlyn helps to educate her teachers and friends about the disease, and every year, they support her in her Craft, Cookie, and Lemonade Stand fundraiser. Items are sold by donation at the six-hour event, which raises about $1,200 annually for JDRF, and ends in a squirt-down from fire department hoses and a parade of lights and sirens by the police department! Kaitlyn enjoys softball, singing, and spending time with friends. As a delegate, she wants to teach people about type 1 and show them that their donations to JDRF are worthwhile.
