Joseph has some serious fundraising chops. His JDRF Walk team was the second–highest fundraising team in his local JDRF chapter, raising almost $15,000 in Joseph’s very first year participating, an amount they doubled at this year’s Walk. With help from his mom, Joseph helps share his message of hope via social media, and he has been featured in a number of magazine articles and fundraising campaigns. As his mom says, “Joseph is his own advocate. He will strike up a conversation with anyone and tell them all about his diabetes and diabetic alert dog, Hope. He is proud of who he is and not afraid to educate those around him. He has even talked at his school to educate the students and teachers about his diabetes, pump and continuous glucose monitor.” Joseph also loves swimming, soccer, bike riding and trampoline jumping.
