Jeff likes to challenge himself, so when he was diagnosed with type 1 in sixth grade, he knew that in order to continue doing well in school and sports, he would need to take on the added challenge of managing his disease. Jeff says he aspires to be "the best I can be at everything." One day, he wants to go to college and become a doctor. He plays varsity tennis and junior varsity basketball while achieving a 4.0 GPA in advanced academic classes, making his future look extremely bright. Jeff raises money and participates in the annual JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, and hopes to increase awareness and funding for diabetes as a delegate. "I believe it is important to spread the word and educate people about my disease," he says.
