A yellow belt in karate, Jaxon hopes to earn his black belt one day. He loves to read, is learning to play guitar, and plays soccer, football, and basketball with his brothers. Although he has had type 1 since he was three and was diagnosed with celiac disease a year later, Jaxon is enthusiastic about life.

He and his family are very involved with the New Mexico Branch of JDRF. The whole family participates in Walks, Jaxon's mom has spoken at fundraisers, his dad serves as a Board member, and his brothers participate in medical research. Jaxon wants Congress to know how important funding for diabetes research is, and how hard it is to live with the disease. One day, Jaxon wants to go to college and become a policeman.
