Age at T1D diagnosis: 7

Jamie loves volleyball, softball and basketball, as well as being actively involved with JDRF. She takes part in local T1D support group meetings, and she and her family have participated in JDRF One Walk events for the past three years with her team, Team Jamie Girl. Jamie has even organized her own motorcycle fundraising event called “Jamie’s Ride for the Cure” to help raise money for T1D research. Jamie is grateful for the sense of community and support that JDRF provides, and wants to take on that same role while in D.C., saying she “wants to make a difference for the T1D community.”
