Age: 13
Age at T1D diagnosis: 11

Jack was lucky that he was diagnosed with T1D soon after his symptoms began because his parents were aware of the signs. Managing the disease is tough, but he’s making the most of it. Jack is committed to spreading the word about T1D by speaking to his class, meeting with his Members of Congress and taking part in JDRF One Walk. His hobbies include basketball, lacrosse, cross-country running and guitar. Although Jack has to test his blood sugar frequently when he’s active, he says, “I think that sports shouldn’t slow down a person with T1D, and I want to show people that by doing the best I can in every sport I play.”
