Age: 11
Age at T1D diagnosis: 2

Jack wants to assure other kids at Children’s Congress that it’s perfectly normal to feel different. “If there were a cure, the kids who now suffer from type 1 diabetes wouldn’t feel so different from other people. I know I might be different, but I know I am a good different. I don’t know if every kid knows this.”

Jack enjoys educating others about his disease and has spoken at his school during the Everybody Counts Program. His JDRF Walk team, Jack’s J-Walkers, is one of the top fundraising teams in Cincinnati. A dedicated athlete, Jack loves tennis, golf, swimming, baseball, and basketball. Some of his other passions include reading, cooking, and—he admits it!—annoying his sisters. Someday, Jack would like to own his own business.
