Isabelle is known for her contagious smile and positive attitude. Awarded the 2013 James Carpenter Courage Award, her school’s award, for her sunny outlook, she conquers the daily challenges of living with T1D with grace and grit. She and her JDRF Walk team have raised $100,000 to date. Isabelle has also helped organize—and played her guitar in—a concert fundraiser for T1D. She and her family have served as guest speakers at Eli Lilly and Company’s Global Diabetes Meeting, where they appeared in an open forum and answered questions about life with T1D. Aside from her avid advocacy, Isabelle’s other passions include reading, playing soccer and softball, fishing, camping, singing and working on crafts projects. Isabelle dreams of becoming a teacher when she grows up.
