Age: 8
Age at T1D diagnosis: 6

Isabella loves drawing, writing, reading, gymnastics and swimming. She is only eight, but she’s already a walker, fundraiser and advocate. Recently, she met with Senator Menendez to show him the challenges of living with T1D. She explains, “It’s hard and annoying having diabetes because I don’t like getting shots or going low.” This past year, she went to diabetes camp and is planning on returning every year and eventually becoming a counselor. She doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up, but she wants to do something that helps people. Isabella is ready to head to Washington, D.C. “I dream about a day when my diabetes is gone. I want to ask Congress to give money for treatments.”
