Josephine from Denmark

Age: 19

Profile:

Eighteen year old Josephine loves cars and horses, riding once a week or more. She works at a hospital one weekend a month, and volunteers with her mother at the Red Cross and JDRF. Diagnosed with type 1 at 11 years old, it took her some time not to be angry and to adjust. Now, she feels that she’s lucky that it’s not something she considers to be worse. But she would like to not have to prick herself several times a day, and have to have shots. As a delegate, Josephine would like legislators to understand how important it is to get the support and make the right decisions in order to find a cure, especially because of the very young children, who don’t understand what the disease is about.
