Doron has been dealing with his diabetes for the past 10 years. A high school student, he enjoys soccer, basketball, ping-pong, and helping younger kids. Promoting awareness of his disease is important to him, and he has given talks to his classmates about how important it is to donate money for children living with diabetes in Israel. His whole family is involved with JDRF Israel. As a delegate, he hopes to increase awareness about type 1 diabetes, and to get more support for research toward a cure. “I believe that governments need to support more diabetes research, especially now, when the UN has recently declared that diabetes is a global epidemic.”
