Age: 11
Age at T1D diagnosis: 3

Harrison sheds light on T1D—one lantern at a time. Through his organization T-1 Luminary Enlightenment, he has distributed more than 50,000 luminary bags, which have been lit up in all 50 states and on six continents in honor of T1D awareness. As a gifted public speaker, Harrison hopes to share his story at Children’s Congress. “I want the congressmen to know that this is a cause that they can all feel good about supporting!”

Harrison enjoys sports, studying baseball statistics, cooking, history, art, and architecture. He loves reading about the Civil War and Abraham Lincoln, and hopes to study engineering in college. When he grows up, Harrison wants to be a Major League Baseball player. And if there isn’t a cure for T1D by that time, he’d also like to become a scientist, to help find one.
