Age: 9
Age at T1D diagnosis: 2

Grant wants to share the message of hope at Children’s Congress that he’s delivered in his speeches at JDRF Walk kickoff events, and in talks for audiences at schools and companies. That message is all about what a cure for T1D would mean for him and other people living with the disease. “There are lots of people who suffer with T1D. It would help them all. Young and old people.”

Grant also knows how to have fun. He enjoys camping, Cub Scouts, and traveling to places like Israel with his mom and dad. He collects stuffed toy dogs (he has more than 160 at last count) and loves walking his two real dogs. In fact, he loves animals so much that when he grows up, Grant hopes to become a veterinarian.
