Gators in Northeast Ohio? Yep, specifically ‘Graham’s Gators’; one of the chapter’s top JDRF One Walk teams for five years in a row. The Gators are led by Graham, a competitive swimmer, saxophonist, and a student who aspires to be a game designer or digital artist. In addition to their JDRF One Walk work, Graham and his family are active advocates for JDRF’s mission through the Promise to Remember Me initiative and their participation in TrialNet. “Diabetes is mostly bad,” says Graham, “but if you look hard enough, it can present opportunity. Because of T1D, I have found the opportunity to do unique things, and the U.S. can find this opportunity, too. But we must continue to invest and support the research into T1D.”
