Age: 7
Age at T1D diagnosis: 2

Like many little girls, Finley loves dancing—ballet and tap dancing are her two favorites—painting and coloring, and hanging out with her older brother. Yet managing her T1D and celiac disease means that Finley’s daily life can sometimes be a bit different from that of the other kids in her class at Morning Star School. Finley uses an insulin pump and knows how to check her blood-glucose level. She also knows to tell her parents if she is feeling low. “I am outgoing and healthy but continually battle my blood to feel the best possible.”

Finley and her family are dedicated to spreading awareness. By helping out with a car-wash event held each summer at her dad’s workplace, Finley does her part to educate her community about T1D.
