Age: 7
Age at T1D diagnosis: 4

Evan’s made the front page! He was featured in the Wall Street Journal last year for his contributions to T1D technology. Evan himself was the inspiration behind the CGM monitoring system known as Nightscout, which his dad helped invent. The Nightscout system helps people monitor their loved ones’ blood glucose values remotely. Evan loves Minecraft, reading and helping to educate his classmates about T1D. He once invited his dad into school to read a book about diabetes together with his class. Bike riding, swimming lessons, video games and playing outside with his sister are some of his favorite hobbies. Spending time with his family is especially important for Evan. In fact, he and his family recently accepted a JDRF chapter volunteering award together.
